Job description

Chip - Technician/Operator
Automation Personnel Services is seeking a Chip Production Operator for a company based in Sugar Land, Texas. The SPD Chip Production Operator is responsible for manufacturing semiconductor lasers from compound semiconductor wafers, ensuring that all operations are performed in a class 10000 clean room environment and strictly adhere to Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs). The ideal candidate will perform production tasks, support quality control, and maintain cleanliness and organization to uphold high standards in semiconductor production.
Pay Rate
$14.00 - $16.00 an hour
Schedule and Hours
Monday through Wednesday (alternating Sundays)
7:00 am to 7:00 pm
Thursday through Saturday (alternating Sundays)
7:00 am to 7:00 pm
Chip - Technician/Operator Duties and Responsibilities
• Adhere to all safety policies and SOPs. Identify and report any unsafe conditions proactively.
• Attend and complete all required training programs.
• Conduct manufacturing activities within a class 10000 cleanroom.
• Complete production documentation accurately and submit to supervisors. Identify any deviations or discrepancies, report to the supervisor, and assist in investigations if necessary.
• Assist in new product introductions and work to increase production output per customer requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace. Follow preventive maintenance and calibration policies for manufacturing equipment.
• Work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment, ensuring quality standards are consistently met.
Chip - Technician/Operator Qualifications and Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent. An associate degree in process technology is preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment; experience in semiconductor production is highly desirable.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
• Basic math skills, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Strong oral and written communication skills to document processes and report issues.
• Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
• Ability to lift objects up to 25 lbs.
