Job description

Summary

Seeking a Chip Testing Shift Engineer responsible for providing real-time technical support during assigned shifts to ensure smooth chip testing production operations. This role focuses on troubleshooting work order and equipment issues, monitoring test data to ensure product quality, performing equipment calibration, and conducting timely issue reporting and shift handovers to maintain operational continuity and process stability.

Job Duties

Keep the flow of work orders and perform root cause analysis

  • Monitor the flow of work orders and respond promptly to production interruptions during the assigned shift

  • Solve issues in work orders / equipment in a timely manner for smooth flow in the production line

Maintain product quality

  • Ensure daily golden sample verification is completed and passed before production; investigate, report, and resolve any failures prior to release for production.

  • Monitor real-time test data and equipment performance during production to ensure test accuracy and stability

  • Identify abnormal trends, data shifts, or out-of-control conditions and take immediate action

  • Perform routine calibrations on test stations to ensure consistency of product quality

Reporting and Shift Communication

  • Document and escalate production, equipment, and quality issues during the shift, and report critical issues to management as required

  • Maintain accurate shift logs and provide shift handover including equipment status, open issues, actions taken, risks, and follow-up items

Maintain procedures

  • Maintain existing SOP

  • Provide training to manufacturing personnel

Perform other work-related tasks as required and assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree required in Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related discipline from an accredited institution.

  • Experience with chip manufacturing, micromanufacturing, or equipment automation is a plus

  • Experience with the maintenance, calibration and operation of automated equipments

  • Knowledge of Semiconductor devices

  • Basic knowledge of programming, familiar with LabView programming

  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

  • Robust data analysis and problem-solving capability

  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/ written communication skills for successful inter and intra-group interactions

  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated

  • Ability to follow all cleanroom protocols

  • Ability to work independently and as a team

  • Ability lift or move items weighing up to 20 pounds

  • Assess the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned

  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods

  • Fine manipulation involves using fingers for precise tasks like pinching, picking, or typing, rather than whole hand or arm manipulation

Location

This position will be on-site based in Sugar Land, Texas.
