Job description

City Wide Jani Inc. is seeking dependable and dedicated individuals to join our team as full-time custodians for the second shift in Chinatown, Chicago. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to work in a stable environment with growth potential, paid training, and excellent benefits. Whether you have custodial experience or are eager to learn, weโ€™d love to hear from you!

Position Details:

  • Shift:ย 8:00 PM - 5:00ย PM, Monday through Friday
  • Location: Chinatown, Chicago (60616)
  • Pay: $17/hour
  • Overtime: May be required occasionally

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a 15-passenger vanย for two hours each shift (training provided).
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including:
    • Emptying trash receptacles
    • Dusting windowsills, air vents, and other surfaces
    • Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms
    • Sanitizing high-touch areas to maintain a healthy environment
  • Handle specialized cleaning as needed, such as:
    • Floor stripping and waxing
    • Carpet and window cleaning
    • Pressure washing
    • Snow removal during winter months
  • Inspect and report any maintenance needs to the Lead and/or Operations Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects over 50 lbs.
  • Prior custodial experience is a plus but not requiredโ€”weโ€™re happy to train the right candidate!

Additional Information:

  • This role may require occasional overtime.
  • Candidates must be safety-conscious and comfortable working with cleaning chemicals.
