We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dedicated team at Spero Family Crisis Intervention, Inc. As a remote clinic based in Chula Vista, California, our outpatient office facilitates a flexible working environment. You will be part of a cohesive, multidisciplinary team comprising licensed therapists, medical professionals, and administrative staff, all dedicated to creating a therapeutic and supportive atmosphere. Our team collaborates closely to ensure the highest standard of care for our clients.

In your role as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Spero Family Crisis Intervention, Inc., you will engage in a variety of essential tasks, including:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate client needs, including addiction history, mental health status, and family dynamics.
• Developing individualized treatment plans that integrate evidence-based practices tailored to address specific substance use issues and concurrent mental health challenges.
• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions utilizing methodologies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to support client progress.
• Collaborating effectively with a diverse treatment team, including physicians, nurses, case managers, and support staff, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
• Providing education and guidance to clients' families, enhancing their understanding of addiction and mental health to foster a supportive home environment.
• Maintaining strict confidentiality standards while documenting client progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with state and federal regulations.

You will primarily work with adults facing substance use disorders and related mental health challenges. This includes individuals struggling with addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other co-occurring conditions. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds, and your ability to connect empathetically and effectively with individuals experiencing various life challenges is crucial for their recovery journey.

• A valid license to practice as a mental health professional, such as Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degrees such as a Master's or Doctorate in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline are preferred.
• Specialized training or significant experience in addiction counseling and dual-diagnosis approaches is essential.

• Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic techniques, particularly for addressing substance abuse and dual-diagnosis cases.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• A strong track record in building rapport with clients, inspiring motivation, and fostering resilience in recovery.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary for collaboration and documentation.
