Position Summary
We are seeking a Licensed Electrical Inspector to support the electrical maintenance and inspection functions on-site in Hatillo. This person will work under the supervision of a Perito Electricista (Electrical Surveyor / Master Electrician) and assist in inspections, maintenance, repairs, and ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the licensed Perito Electricista in performing inspections, testing, and compliance checks on electrical systems and installations.
  • Support routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment, wiring, panels, and related components.
  • Help prepare and run conduit, wire, cable, junction boxes, lighting fixtures, switches, and protective devices under supervision.
  • Assist in reading electrical diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to support work tasks.
  • Help maintain work areas, tools, and equipment, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and safety.
  • Adhere to safety regulations, follow lockout/tagout procedures, and support safe work practices at all times.
  • Document work performed, report issues to supervisor, and maintain inspection and maintenance logs.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with local electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Valid Electrician License ("Licencia dePerito Electricista") per Puerto Rico regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, components, circuitry, and electrical codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical diagrams.
  • Experience using hand and power tools associated with electrical installation and repair.
  • Strong adherence to safety protocols and practices.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and preferably English.
  • Physically capable of the work: climbing ladders, lifting equipment, working in confined spaces, etc.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively with electricians, and learn on the job.

Preferred / Advantageous
  • Some prior work experience in industrial, commercial or manufacturing electrical settings.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of local permitting, inspections, and electrical compliance in Puerto Rico.
