To address these, interviewers receive specialized training in trauma-informed techniques and child development, work closely with multidisciplinary teams (including law enforcement, social workers, and mental health professionals), and follow strict protocols to minimize re-traumatization. Ongoing supervision and peer support are also integral in helping interviewers manage the emotional impact of the work.

What Are Child Forensic Interview Jobs?

Child forensic interview jobs focus on questioning children about traumas they may have experienced and crimes they may have seen. As part of this service, you may investigate the child's history and current situation, question their family members, and carefully interrogate them to obtain information while causing as little distress as possible. Child forensic interviewers frequently help support children after a traumatizing event, testify in court proceedings, write reports on individual cases, and work on-call to provide rapid help and support when needed. You often work together with other caregivers and supporters to process cases in a multi-disciplinary approach.
