Residential Childcare Supervisor – KidsPeace Residential Program

Make a lasting difference in the lives of youth while supporting a dedicated team. KidsPeace New England is seeking a full-time Residential Childcare Supervisor at our Graham Lake Campus in Ellsworth, Maine. This role provides leadership, crisis management, and direct support to our Residential Childcare Specialists and youth in a therapeutic setting.

About KidsPeace New England Residential Program:
KidsPeace provides structured, compassionate care for children and adolescents facing emotional and behavioral challenges. Our Graham Lake Residential Program offers individualized treatment and a safe environment where youth can grow, heal, and thrive.

Position Overview:
The Residential Childcare Supervisor ensures the safety and well-being of clients and staff by providing on-the-ground support, supervision, and crisis intervention. This position operates as a “floater” across all residential units, assisting with evening programming, staffing coordination, and incident reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to residential staff in crisis prevention and intervention.
  • Deliver direct crisis intervention using Safe Crisis Management (SCM)
  • Ensure compliance with all Critical Incident Report requirements, including documentation, staff debriefings, and follow-up coordination.
  • Assist in evening and off-campus programming, ensuring proper staffing ratios across all units.
  • Participate in physical crisis interventions, including restraints, when necessary.
  • Maintain consistent presence within the residential units to ensure safety and support.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum two years of experience working with children, preferably in a residential or behavioral health setting
  • Strong written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to physically participate in crisis intervention procedures
