Job description

Our Company:
Abyss Solutions is reinventing industrial asset management both above and underwater for step-change improvements in; asset life, maintenance cost, and reduction of failure risk. Think oil rigs, dam walls, ship hulls, any asset subject to deterioration in water and weather.
We do so utilize extremely sophisticated, unique (and patented) Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning software together with a deep understanding of our customers' asset integrity needs and processes. Creating a 3D 'digital twin' of customer assets. Using drones and Abyss analytics is just the beginning, Abyss comprehensively classifies the 'state' of the asset to identify exactly what maintenance is required, providing precise direction.
Abyss is driving to fully automate the maintenance process, expanding applications and capabilities into
other verticals.
Chief Product Officer - What We Need
Series B (~$15-20M revenue) pivoting from managed-service delivery to a platform sold through IRM operators such as Acuren and Applus+. The CPO owns the product that makes the pivot real, a roadmap spanning cloud inspection, continuous monitoring, and edge autonomy. Houston-based, with heavy travel across the Middle East, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Reports to the CEO; partners tightly with the CRO.
Must-haves

  • Designs for non-technical field users - has shipped tools inspectors actually adopt in the field, not demos. Radical simplicity as a hard constraint; onboarding measured in hours.
  • Industrial inspection + APM fluency - Meridium, Maximo, SAP PM, AssetWise. Owns the integration-layer product requirements - defines the API, doesn't write it.
  • Active-learning / human-in-the-loop AI - can make unknown-defect handling experientially simple, not an ML lecture.
  • Two-sided platform builder - products serving a channel partner and an end beneficiary at once; multi-vertical (oil & gas, power, chemicals) through one channel.
  • Series B+ operator - stands up a product org from scratch, ships imperfect, scrappy without scaffolding. Holds product ground against a strong CRO without deferring or duplicating.
Nice to have
  • IRM domain depth - knows how IRMs price work, deploy crews, run campaigns, and where their single-digit margins hurt.
  • Named-operator or regional exposure - direct experience with Acuren, Applus+ or Bureau Veritas, BP, CVX, OXY, etc and/or Middle East market familiarity.
Dealbreakers
  • Background limited to consumer, fintech, or non-industrial software.
  • Experience only in large, structured organizations; first-time leader or individual contributor.
  • Designs from features or technical architecture rather than the end user.
  • Conflict style at either extreme: consensus-seeking to the point of paralysis, or unwilling to defer.
Logistics Houston (relocation OK), hybrid • US citizen / green card, no visa sponsorship • 7-20 years PM at CPO/VP level •
