- Anticipate industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks. Drive proactive product development that keeps AAIS and its Members ahead of the curve.
- Guide decommissioning of outdated products and lead the introduction of modern solutions, tools, and technologies.
- Collaborate closely with Executive Leadership Team peers and stakeholders to integrate product strategy across all business functions.
Executive Member Engagement
- Serve as a senior ambassador to the AAIS Member community; lead strategic discussions and feedback sessions to inform product direction.
- Represent AAIS in industry forums, regulatory discussions, and public speaking engagements to elevate the organization's visibility and leadership in the market.
- Partner with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on high-impact Member opportunities and strategic alliances.
Operational Oversight & Governance
- Direct the Product, Legal, and Regulatory Filings departments to ensure absolute consistency in methodology, documentation, and execution across all product development and compliance efforts.
- In collaboration with the Product Leaders, manage the product governance process, including product reviews, advisory councils, and serve as the final decision-maker where necessary.
- Establish and monitor Product currency metrics (KPIs) to evaluate product relevance, Member value, and operational efficiency.
Manage a Team
- Lead, coach, and develop a cross-functional leadership team-including the Product, Legal, and Regulatory Filings departments-to deliver high performance and support individual growth.
- Set clear goals and expectations, monitor progress, and provide regular feedback.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable team culture.
- Manage day-to-day operations, ensure alignment with department objectives, and remove barriers to performance.
- Support resource planning, workload distribution, and prioritization of tasks.
- Facilitate regular team meetings, one-on-one check-ins, and performance conversations.
- Identify and address performance issues in a timely and constructive manner.
- Partner with Human Resources on talent-related matters such as hiring, onboarding, development, employee relations, and performance management. Encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Represent the team's needs and perspectives in cross-functional discussions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Requirements

- Skilled in navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in complex initiatives, with sound judgment and decision-making in dynamic situations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, engage stakeholders, negotiate, navigate conflict, resolve significant problems, and collaborate across teams and channels in a remote-first working environment.

- Proven track record of building and launching successful insurance products and managing complex product portfolios.
- Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation preferred.
- Additional insurance or product development certifications, a plus.
- Travel is required for annual all-company gatherings, team design sessions, Member-facing meetings, and industry-related events and conferences (up to 50% of the time).
