Job description

Consolidated Cooperative, a member-owned organization celebrating 90 years of enhancing the quality of life for our members and communities in Central Ohio, is seeking a collaborative, strategic, and results-oriented Chief Operating Officer (COO) to help lead our electric, fiber, propane, and natural gas operations. Reporting to the President/CEO, this executive leader will help guide our electric, fiber, propane, and natural gas operations while driving strategic initiatives that position the Cooperative for continued growth and success. Join us in powering and connecting our communities safely, dependably, and with a spirit of service.

As a key advisor to the President/CEO, the COO provides executive leadership across engineering, operations, and supply chain functions. This leader will champion operational excellence, continuous improvement, and talent development while fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and innovation in a rapidly evolving utility and telecommunications environment

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Partner with the President & CEO and Senior Leadership Team to shape organizational strategy, drive growth initiatives, and ensure successful execution of the Cooperative's long-term vision.
  • Lead the Cooperative's strategic planning process and oversee the development, execution, and evaluation of electric, fiber, propane, and natural gas operational work plans.
  • Provide executive leadership for Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain Management, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • In coordination with our CTO, lead organizational process improvement efforts, ensuring operational effectiveness, measurable results, and alignment across functional teams.
  • Develop, mentor, and support leaders and teams through effective talent management, succession planning, and organizational development practices.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting, resource planning, and investment decisions that support the Cooperative's strategic and operational objectives.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships while staying informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and opportunities that strengthen the Cooperative's competitive position and service to members.
What We're Seeking
  • Bachelor's degree required; Engineering preferred.
  • Ten years of experience in a related field required, or five years with an MBA.
  • At least seven years of supervisory or management experienceleading complex operations, teams, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead effectively in complex, fast-paced environments while bringing clarity, focus, and strategic direction.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to analyze complex business issues, set priorities, and make sound decisions that support organizational objectives.
  • A leadership style grounded in integrity, accountability, emotional intelligence, and service.
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office applications and business technologies.
