NACE International was founded in 1943 as the National Association of Corrosion Engineers, and it focused on developing standards and education for corrosion prevention and control. Key Responsibilities & Role Overview
The CLCO leads AMPP's global learning and credentialing ecosystem-the organization's primary engine for workforce capability and market adoption. This role owns the full lifecycle of education and certification programs, ensuring AMPP credentials are embedded in specifications, trusted by regulators, and required by employers worldwide.

Single governing objective: position AMPP credentials as the globally required standard for workforce qualification in corrosion and materials performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Credentialing strategy and market expansion:
    • Lead AMPP's credentialing strategy and market expansion, integrating standards driven certification and specification driven credentialing to grow adoption.
    • Align priorities, resources, and cross-functional teams around a unified education and credentialing agenda that accelerates strategic impact.
  • Learning ecosystem design and modernization:
    • Modernize AMPP's global learning and credentialing ecosystem across all delivery formats and languages, including curriculum, instructional design, learning technology, assessment platforms, digital badging, and data informed decision making.
  • Digital and data transformation of learning systems:
    • Lead the digital and data transformation of AMPP's learning systems, rebuilding how content, assessments, and credentials are delivered, measured, and improved.
  • Full P&L ownership of credentialing portfolio:
    • Lead education and credentialing products with full P&L accountability.
  • Member value & revenue generation:
    • Drive growth of non-dues revenue through education, certifications, sponsorships, and corporate learning partnerships globally while ensuring long term portfolio sustainability.
  • Workforce alignment with global industry needs:
    • Lead workforce development and align AMPP credentials with global industry needs, including apprenticeship pathways, career frameworks, and employer partnerships that drive demand for credentials.
  • Governance, accreditation, and quality assurance:
    • Govern certification and credentialing programs end to end, including program design, examination operations, credential issuance, recertification, accreditation, and quality assurance.
  • Cross-functional leadership across standards, growth, and innovation:
    • Provide cross functional leadership across standards, growth, and innovation, partnering with the Chief Intelligence & Innovation Office, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Growth Office
  • Executive leadership team member and Board liaison
    • Serve as a member of the executive leadership team, liaison to relevant Board committees, and senior spokesperson for AMPP's learning and credentialing portfolio externally.
  • Staff management & leadership:
    • Recruit, engage, develop, and retain a talented team of professionals who are dedicated to the delivery of innovative education products and programs.
    • Provide ongoing mentoring and leadership, holding regular meetings to review progress and address challenges amongst the team, and establishing clear expectations, performance metrics, and accountability.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Demonstrated experience in association or member-based organizations operating within standards-driven sectors.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in credentialing, workforce development, or professional education.
  • Experience supporting and collaborating with boards and volunteer leaders in a governance environment to effectively serve as the executive lead for the Education, Certification, and Accreditation committees.
  • Effective and persuasive communicator with strong active listening skills. Experienced in presenting to a wide range of audiences from executives, members, boards, committees, government, customers, and global partners.   • Demonstrated experience recruiting, developing, leading, and inspiring a large multidisciplinary team across education, credentialing, instructional design, and learning technology.
  • Expertise in volunteer management and engagement, including certification boards, exam committees, and faculty networks.
  • Global mindset and demonstrated experience operating in international markets, including building, or managing learning and credentialing delivery across regions outside North America, preferred.

Education

Travel Requirements
Travel is expected for this role and a passport is required. Travel is anticipated to be 20 - 30 %,
including domestic and international travel to member events, training delivery sites, examination
sites, accreditation reviews, and partner meetings.
