Job description

The McDonnel Group is proactively seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join our leadership team. This is a planned succession opportunity โ€” our current CFO is retiring after years of outstanding service, and we are committed to ensuring a thoughtful, thorough transition. The incoming CFO will have dedicated time to work alongside our current CFO before the current CFOโ€™s departure.

We have built a sophisticated financial reporting infrastructure that goes well beyond compliance โ€” our data systems are designed to inform strategic decision-making at every level of the organization. The right candidate will inherit a strong foundation and the opportunity to leverage financial intelligence as a genuine competitive tool.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate brings 10โ€“15 years of progressive finance experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role (VP of Finance, Controller, or CFO). Experience in construction or comparably complex organizations is strongly preferred.

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Finance is required. Advanced degrees (MSF/MBA) and/or professional certifications (CPA/CMA) are desired.
  • This is an on-site position, located in Metairie, Louisiana.
