Job description

Marketing Manager

Full-Time | 100% On-Site | Edina, MN

We are a fast-growing, multi-state cannabis enterprise spanning retail, delivery, manufacturing, and corporate consulting services with a mission to lead and innovate in the cannabis industry. Our CEO's personal brand as a pioneering female leader in the space is a core part of our identity. We're scaling aggressively, and we're looking for people who are excited to build something meaningful alongside us.

Role Overview

We're hiring a Marketing Manager to own the execution of our marketing strategy across retail, CPG, and digital channels. You will report directly to the CEO, COO and Executive Chairman and will be responsible for translating their strategic vision into campaigns, content, and brand assets that drive revenue and customer loyalty.

This is a hands-on, ground-floor opportunity. You're joining a small marketing department that's ready to grow - and you'll play a central role in shaping what it becomes. We need someone resourceful who can deliver results without a big team or a massive budget, and who sees that as an opportunity rather than a limitation. As the company scales, this role will scale with it.

A note on our culture: Our leadership team communicates directly and moves fast. Feedback here is honest, specific, and frequent - because that's how we all get better. We're looking for someone who appreciates that kind of clarity, can separate feedback on the work from feedback on their artistic preferences, and uses it as fuel to improve. You'll have real creative latitude within a clear strategic framework set by leadership. If that kind of partnership sounds energizing to you, keep reading.

Key ResponsibilitiesRetail Marketing & In-Store Branding
  • Lead retail marketing initiatives, in-store merchandising, and branding across our growing portfolio of locations.
  • Develop and execute planograms, promotional materials, and visual merchandising strategies grounded in value-centric messaging. Our brand philosophy is rooted in accessibility and trust - think big-box retail appeal rather than luxury cannabis boutique. Our customers care about price, selection, reliability, and quality, in that order.
Brand Development & Creative Direction
  • Oversee the creation, launch, and marketing of new brands for upcoming retail locations, ensuring alignment with our brand identity and business goals.
  • Lead art direction, copywriting, and graphic design for all company brands across retail, CPG, and internal communications.
  • Maintain a cohesive brand voice that is accessible and value-driven across all customer touchpoints.
AI-Driven Marketing & Technology
  • Leverage AI tools and platforms extensively for design, copywriting, content generation, social media optimization, and campaign efficiency. This is a core expectation of the role - we're looking for someone who is genuinely fluent in the current AI marketing ecosystem and uses these tools daily.
  • Stay current on emerging AI marketing platforms and proactively recommend and implement tools that increase output quality and reduce time-to-market.
  • Collaborate with the technology team to launch websites, delivery platforms, and loyalty apps that are brand-aligned and optimized for user experience.
Digital Marketing, CRM & Social Media
  • Drive all digital marketing efforts including content creation, social media management, and CRM campaigns (text, email, loyalty programs), optimizing each channel for engagement and retention.
  • Lead and oversee content development for social media, blogs, and digital platforms for retail, CPG brands, and CEO personal branding.
Manufacturing & CPG Marketing
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies for new CPG brands within the manufacturing division, from product positioning through launch execution.
Public Relations & CEO Brand
  • Manage PR for corporate and CPG brands, as well as the CEO's personal brand, developing compelling narratives and fostering media relationships.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Team Building
  • Partner with purchasing, sales, operations, and technology to drive revenue and ensure marketing strategies align with broader business objectives.
  • Help build out the marketing department over time, managing and mentoring existing and new team members and establishing scalable processes as the organization grows.
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive marketing experience, with demonstrated ownership of brand, digital, and retail marketing functions.
  • Proven, hands-on fluency with AI marketing tools for design, copy, social scheduling, and analytics. We'll want to see real examples of how you've used these tools to drive results.
  • Working knowledge of cannabis products, consumer trends, and the competitive landscape. You don't need to be an active consumer, but you should be able to speak knowledgeably about the industry from day one.
  • Strong creative skills with a value-centric, accessibility-first design sensibility. We're focused on reaching everyday consumers, not building aspirational luxury brands.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a talent for clear, direct storytelling.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM software, email marketing platforms, and social media management tools.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment where you'll often need to figure things out independently and move quickly with limited resources.
  • Resilience and a growth mindset. You'll receive candid, direct feedback regularly - and we're looking for someone who welcomes that and uses it to sharpen their work.
  • Ability to work on-site five days a week in our corporate office in Edina. Sorry, remote work is not an option.
Preferred
  • Prior experience in cannabis, retail, or CPG marketing.
  • Experience building or scaling a marketing function from the ground up.
  • Passion for the cannabis industry and familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects with minimal oversight.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $85,000-$100,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including competitive medical, dental, vision, 401K, paid sick leave, paid time off and paid holidays.
  • A real opportunity to build and shape the marketing function of a rapidly scaling cannabis company - and grow into a senior leadership role as the organization expands.
How to Apply

If you're a resourceful marketer who thrives in fast-paced, high-accountability environments and you're excited about the opportunity to shape the marketing future of a leading cannabis company, we'd love to hear from you. Please submit your resume, a cover letter detailing your relevant experience, and a portfolio or examples of your work, including any AI-assisted outputs you're proud of.
