Looking to join a passionate team dedicated to developing and manufacturing life-saving biopharmaceuticals? Avid Bioservices is a leading clinical and commercial biologics CDMO focused on creating innovative solutions to meet the needs of our clients and improve patient outcomes.
Your Role:
As the Sr. Director, Global Marketing, you will lead Avid's global marketing function and serve as the senior marketing advisor to the Chief Commercial Officer and executive leadership team. This role is responsible for developing and executing an integrated global marketing strategy that strengthens Avid's brand, increases market visibility, creates qualified market demand, and supports commercial expansion across North America, Europe, and Asia. You will partner closely with Business Development, Commercial Excellence, Program Management, Technical Operations, Quality, and executive stakeholders to position Avid as a premier U.S.-based biologics CDMO and trusted partner from early development through clinical and commercial manufacturing. This is a high-impact leadership role for a strategic, hands-on marketer who can translate market insight, technical differentiation, and commercial priorities into compelling positioning, content, campaigns, and a stronger global market presence.
Key Responsibilities:

Global Marketing Strategy and Functional Leadership

  • Own and lead Avid's global marketing function, annual marketing strategy, and operating plan in alignment with commercial growth objectives.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CCO and executive leadership team, translating business priorities into clear marketing strategies, programs, and measurable outcomes.
  • Partner with Business Development and commercial leadership to support revenue growth, market expansion, customer acquisition, retention, and segment prioritization.
  • Identify, recommend, and execute strategic marketing initiatives that support global growth, profitability, brand equity, and long-term commercial sustainability.

Brand Positioning and Market Presence

  • Define and elevate Avid's global brand positioning, clearly articulating its differentiated value proposition as a high-quality, responsive, and scalable biologics CDMO partner.
  • Lead the evolution of the Avid brand from awareness to strategic market positioning, ensuring it reflects the company's transformation, expanding capabilities, quality track record, and ambition to serve more patients globally.
  • Own brand consistency across all touchpoints, including the website, digital channels, events, sales materials, proposals, presentations, and client-facing communications.
  • Oversee Avid's strategic external presence, including industry events, trade shows, executive visibility, and corporate communications.

Demand Creation and Commercial Alignment

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that generate awareness, engagement, and qualified demand across target regions, client segments, service areas, and modalities.
  • Partner with Business Development and Commercial Excellence to align campaign strategy with target accounts, opportunity creation, lead qualification, funnel progression, and pipeline contribution.
  • Support account-based marketing strategies targeting key biopharma clients, strategic accounts, consultants, influencers, and high-value market segments.
  • Use campaign performance data, market insights, and commercial feedback to continuously improve audience engagement, message effectiveness, conversion, and return on investment.

Content, Thought Leadership, and Technical Differentiation

  • Develop messaging and content that clearly communicates Avid's capabilities across cell line development, process development, analytical development, tech transfer, CGMP manufacturing, and commercial supply.
  • Lead thought leadership and technical content strategy, including white papers, case studies, webinars, conference presentations, campaign themes, and subject matter expert-driven content.
  • Translate complex scientific, operational, and quality differentiators into clear, compelling narratives for biotech, pharmaceutical, investor, consultant, and industry audiences.
  • Ensure all external messaging appropriately reflects Avid's quality standards, regulated environment, confidentiality expectations, and commitment to client partnership.

Digital, Communications, and Channel Optimization

  • Drive communications and media strategies that deliver clear, compelling messages to pharmaceutical, biotech, investor, trade media, and broader public audiences.
  • Apply expertise in search engine optimization, website development, content strategy, paid and organic digital channels, and social media to strengthen Avid's online presence.
  • Optimize marketing channels, including the Avid website, search, social media, advertising, public relations, events, and trade shows, to drive awareness, engagement, qualified leads, and revenue contribution.
  • Use analytics to evaluate channel performance, campaign effectiveness, audience engagement, and return on investment.

Market Insights, Voice of Customer, and Performance Management

  • Direct market research activities to monitor industry trends, customer needs, buyer behavior, competitive dynamics, outsourcing trends, and emerging biologics market opportunities.
  • Capture and synthesize voice-of-customer insights from clients, prospects, Business Development, lost opportunities, conferences, consultants, and market research to inform positioning and strategy.
  • Establish and track marketing performance metrics that connect brand, campaign, content, and channel activity to awareness, engagement, qualified demand, and commercial impact.
  • Partner with Commercial Excellence on MQL and SQL definitions, pipeline reporting, campaign attribution, funnel insights, and dashboards that measure marketing contribution to commercial outcomes.

Marketing Operations, Budget, and Team Leadership

  • Lead marketing planning and execution discipline, including campaign calendars, content workflows, channel coordination, agency management, and alignment with Commercial Excellence on CRM-enabled lead management and reporting processes.
  • Manage the annual marketing budget and external resources, including creative agencies, PR firms, digital vendors, event partners, consultants, and other marketing service providers.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global marketing team with the capabilities, accountability, and operating cadence required to support Avid's growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Technical Operations, Quality, Program Management, Finance, Legal, HR, and executive leadership to ensure alignment and execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, life sciences, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience in biopharmaceuticals, biotechnology, CDMO, life sciences services, healthcare, or another complex B2B environment.
