Job Details:

Pay range: $15.10 - $20.10

SUMMARY: The General Production Team Members support the Smart Chicken poultry processing operations by performing a variety of production and labor functions as assigned. Team members will be placed in the position they chose at the time of hiring and may be rotated across multiple areas of the facility based on operational needs, staffing requirements, and business demand. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Team members in this position may be required to perform one or more of the following duties, including but not limited to:

  • Tray packing and packaging of poultry products

  • Packaging packer duties, including sealing, labeling, and boxing

  • Handling and processing inedible materials in accordance with food safety and environmental standards

  • Debone support functions, including the safe use of knives and cutting tools

  • Rehanger labor to ensure proper product flow

  • Combo wash; cleaning and sanitizing the combos in the receiving area

  • Wing cutting operations

  • Sorting duties, ensuring product meets FPS standards

  • Whole bird processing and specialty handling

  • Production flex assignments, rotating between positions as needed to support production requirements

  • Distribution functions including sorting cases from the Distribution line, sorting out the orders, preparing the pallets and loading the orders onto the trucks.

  • Adherence to all food safety, quality, animal welfare, and workplace safety policies

  • Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, tools, and equipment as required

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to cold temperatures, wet conditions, and poultry products. (below 40F)

  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time

  • Repetitive motions and frequent use of hands and arms

  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, and handling product as required by the position

  • Willing and able to lift/carry up to 45 lbs

  • Use of knives or cutting tools in designated roles, following all safety procedures

  • Other Physical Requirements:

    • Bending and stooping

    • Occasional Squat, reach above shoulder (up to 2 ft.), crouch, kneel, balance, (Occasionally)

    • Climb height: Occasionally (5 - 10 ft.)

Schedule and Flexibility:

  • Ability to work assigned shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed

  • Willingness to rotate between departments or positions based on operational needs

Rehire Consideration:

  • Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 90 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
