Description
Summary:
Responsible for planning, organizing, evaluating and leading initiatives and product launches to improve manufacturing methods, tooling and production equipment capabilities and assembly methods. Conduct specification reviews, monitoring of customer requirements and project management execution. Audit experience, knowledge of new product launch, inspection plans, problem solving, root cause analysis and control of nonconformance is essential. Will ensure proper processes and documentation (SOPs) are in place and projects are managed conforming to customer specifications.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide engineering support to production departments through managing projects for launch of new products, tooling, customer communications, developments and documentation.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials; confer with equipment vendors; solicit observations from operators.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, modifying and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities; establish standards; confirm manufacturing processes.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of tool and fixture modifications and process changes.
  • Assist in investigating customer reported nonconformance issues and provide support in resolving complaints, and corrective actions in a timely manner as assigned.
  • Model and enforce plant safety practices, oversee orientation of safety and emergency evacuation with direct employees and report possible safety hazards or problems to management.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • Bachelors degree in related field preferred
  • 2-4 years manufacturing/engineering experience
  • Project management certification desired
  • Knowledge of manufacturing concepts
  • Microsoft Office Suite and computer skills essential
