The Copper Sorter role at PTP Metal Recyclers is an operations position responsible for the accurate identification, sorting, and processing of recycled scrap Copper. This role requires excellent attention to detail, effective communication, and strong analytical skills.

We have openings for Copper Sorters at our Dallas, TX facility.
Shift: 1st
Days: Monday - Friday (must be flexible to work weekends)
Duties and Responsibilities:
·        Accurately identify and separate recycled copper into proper grades.
·        Ensure material is properly weighed, tagged, documented and placed in designated containers (bins, pallets or gaylord boxes)
·        Successful candidate will have strong safety habits.
·        Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition.
·        Support material preparation and truck loading activities.
·        Ability to work weekends if needed.
Qualifications:
·        At least 1 full year of verifiable experience related to grading non-ferrous scrap metal for recycling.
·        Works safely and with integrity.
·        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
·      Ability to operate a forklift a plus.
Physical Requirements:
·        While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or bend.
·        Must be able to stand for significant lengths of time in an industrial environment with exposure to all elements of weather
·        The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
