Overview:
Chevron is seeking a highly experienced Digital Forensics Developer with deep expertise in both digital forensic investigations and software development to design, build, and maintain tools and automation that support forensic investigations and insider threat operations.
This role is ideal for someone who combines hands-on forensic examiner experience with strong development skills, and can translate investigative needs into scalable, reliable technical solutions. You will work closely with investigators, analysts, and engineers to enhance enterprise forensic capabilities.

  • Provide operational support (KTLO), including troubleshooting forensic tools and supporting investigators
  • Ensure solutions align with Chevron enterprise security, compliance, and data handling standards
  • Integrate and support forensic tools, eDiscovery platforms, and case management systems
  • Collaborate within a DevOps team to improve reliability, scalability, and automation of forensic capabilities
  • Work cross-functionally with cloud, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams
  • Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including:
    • 5+ years in a digital forensic examiner or investigative role
    • 5+ years in a development role (automation, scripting, or software engineering)
  • Experience with forensic tools such as Nuix, Magnet Forensics, Microsoft Purview, or similar
  • Strong scripting and automation experience (PowerShell required)
  • Experience with .NET framework and/or C# development
  • Strong understanding of digital forensic processes and investigative workflows
  • Solid knowledge of Windows operating systems and enterprise desktop environments
  • Understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure and system integrations
  • Experience with databases (e.g., SQL, MongoDB, MariaDB, or similar)
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience developing automation for forensic or investigative workflows
  • Familiarity with case management systems
  • Experience with enterprise device management tools (e.g., Intune)
  • Exposure to cloud environments and enterprise architectures
  • Experience working in DevOps / Agile / SAFe environments (e.g., Azure DevOps)
  • Understanding of enterprise networking and security concepts
  • Experience supporting Windows and/or Linux servers
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI
