Job description

Johnson College is currently seeking a part-time chemistry instructor to run evening chemistry labs. These are on-campus assignments with face-to-face instruction for the Fall 2026 semester. Instructors will be responsible for setting up, instructing, and cleaning up the lab. In addition, instructors will be responsible for creating and grading pre-and-post lab assessments and grading lab work. Instructors must be comfortable closely supervising students and providing supplemental instruction, including the application of math skills in the laboratory setting.

Qualified applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Education with a focus on Chemistry or closely related fields (biochemistry, biology, physics, some engineering, environmental science) and demonstrate experience in chemical preparation and safe chemical practices. Applicants with other degrees may be considered if experience in Chemistry is provided. Previous experience supervising chemistry labs is preferred.
