As a chemistry teacher, your primary responsibilities are to teach science concepts to your students and create an engaging, safe learning environment. Most chemistry teacher jobs are at the high school level. Your job duties include preparing and implementing lesson plans, conducting lab demonstrations, and assigning and evaluating student work. You must also communicate with parents, other teachers, and school administrators. Your employer may require you to participate in continuing education and teacher development programs. You may have additional duties, like monitoring hallways or the cafeteria during student lunch breaks.
