Job description

Overview

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Pastry Chef de Partie to join the only double Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences.

The Pastry Chef de Partie’s primary responsibility is to assist the Pastry Chef and Pastry Sous Chef to effectively supervise and manage the onboard Pastry Production by ensuring exceptional quality, creativity, attention to detail, and consistency in accordance with the hotel’s standards and reputation for luxury and excellence while leading the team by example.


Responsibilities
  • Follow all policies and procedures as outlined by The Post Oak Hotel Employee Handbook
  • Assist with planning of recipe creation, development, execution and implementation of SOP’s and training
  • Conduct daily lineups with colleagues in the absence of the Senior Chefs
  • Assist Sous Chefs with inventory, ordering ingredients, managing food cost and quality control
  • Maintain kitchen logs for food safety programs and food products
  • Ensure kitchen compliance and work in a safe manner following Texas sanitation guidelines, rules and regulations
  • Identify and determine what the minimum standard is acceptable for product quality is and make sure that no product is served that fails to meet that minimum standard
  • Ensure the colleagues uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets

Qualifications

  • Three to five of experience working in a high-volume luxury-oriented kitchen preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Creative in finding methods to improve the efficiency of the department to increase productivity and strategic implementation of them.
  • Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required.
  • Physical demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and prolong extended periods of standing and repetitive motions frequently
