Job description

The Center for Human Development, (CHD) is seeking a Family Caseworker to join our Diversion, Shelter and Housing (DSH) program working between the Holyoke and Springfield offices. This caseworker will be working with families who are experiencing homelessness to connect them with resources and stable housing. Daily responsibilities include providing direct services to program clients living within one of our shelter programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Constant supervision of individuals within the shelter
  • Motivate individuals to maintain apartment/house upkeep
  • Monitor individuals are adhering to agency and funder guidelines including curfew and health and safety guidelines
  • Encourage individuals to maintain constant communication with caseworker and housing specialist
  • Adhere to all other standards as set forth by CHD

REQUIREMENTS
  • Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience working with a homeless population
  • Strong interpersonal skills; empathy for others; demonstrated commitment to serving those with significant needs
  • Must have a vehicle for work use and current driver's license; able to maintain clear and distinct boundaries
  • All candidates must complete and pass background record screening process
  • Bilingual candidates fluent in Spanish or Haitian Creole are encouraged to apply

Pay rate is $21.50/hr. As well as a phenomenal benefit package that includes, Dental, Health and Life insurance. Paid time off, earned vacation time and paid holidays just to name a few.
