Job description

Job Summary:
Two Dots is focused on building verification and risk infrastructure for housing to address the housing crisis. They are seeking a Chatbot Engineer who will develop consumer-facing chat agents that interact with complex workflows, requiring a blend of technical skills and user empathy to ensure quality user experiences.
Responsibilities:
• Consumer-facing chatbots that serve as the frontend to complex workflows
• Bridging internal workflow APIs and domain object code with the real-world call patterns of AI agents
• Making smaller models perform like larger models
• Designing creative ways to automate product judgment, such as using chatbots to roleplay users instead of relying only on manual QA or fixed test cases
• Working closely with design and product to balance look and feel, interaction quality, and business objectives
Qualifications:
Required:
• Strong written English
• Strong Python ability
• Comfortable using SQL or BigQuery
• User empathy
• Metrics-driven mentality
• Understanding of context management
• Ability to differentiate between workflow that makes LLM calls and true agent loop with tool calling
• Ability to design boundaries between tools/APIs and natural language
• Understanding of structural issues versus tone/framing/model quality
• Ability to measure experiments and solve quality problems
• Frustration tolerance for ambiguous chatbot engineering
Preferred:
• Experience with TypeScript or other strong software engineering backgrounds
