Job description

Friendship is looking for Registered Nurses to join our Friendship team, located in Roanoke and Salem, VA. The Registered Nurse position coordinates and monitors medical services, including psychiatric, dental, podiatry, vision and medication management, in accordance with the requirements of regulatory agencies and in response to individual resident needs.

Shifts Available: 

  • 1st shift: 7 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • 2nd shift: 3 p.m. - 11 p.m.
  • 3rd Shift: 11 p.m. - 7 a.m.
  • Day Shift: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Night Shift: 7 p.m. - 7 a.m.

PRN Home Care Resource Pool: Work flexible hours at all facilities and Home Care

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care to residents including preparing and administering medications
  • Prepare and complete electronic documentation
  • Complete corresponding electronic health records upon the resident’s admission, transfer, and/or discharge
  • Perform routine charting duties as required and in accordance with established charting and documentation policies and procedures to include updating care plans
  • Make appropriate reports to the Nurse Supervisor as required or as may be necessary.  Follow facility’s established policy
  • Consult with the resident’s physician in providing the resident’s care, treatment, rehabilitation, etc. as necessary
  • Review the resident’s chart for specific treatments, medication orders, diets, etc. as necessary
  • Ensure that adequate medical supplies, equipment, etc., are maintained on unit/shift at all times to meet the needs of the residents
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the procedures for the safe operation of all nursing service equipment

Qualifications:

  • Unencumbered RN license or eligible to sit for boards in the state of Virginia required
  • BLS, preferred
  • Experience in a long-term care/nursing facility preferred
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds
