What is a Charter Substitute Teacher Network?

A Charter Substitute Teacher Network is an organization that provides substitute teaching staff to charter schools. They recruit, train, and assign substitute teachers to fill in when regular teachers are absent. These networks help ensure that students experience minimal disruption in their learning by providing qualified educators on short notice. They may work exclusively with charter schools or partner with multiple school districts, offering flexibility and support for both schools and educators.

How does working as a substitute teacher within a Charter Substitute Teacher Network differ from traditional substitute teaching roles?

Working in a Charter Substitute Teacher Network often means you'll be placed in various charter schools rather than traditional public schools, which can offer a diverse range of teaching experiences and environments. Charter networks may have unique teaching philosophies, curricula, and classroom management approaches, so adaptability and quick learning are valuable skills. Additionally, these networks sometimes provide more consistent assignments, professional development opportunities, and feedback compared to independent substitute roles. You'll also likely collaborate closely with permanent teachers and school administrators to ensure continuity for students.
