Job Summary

The Senior Channel Marketer serves as the strategic business partner for Sales, Product Management, Supply Chain, and Marketing to develop customer assortments, promotional strategies, pricing recommendations, and merchandising plans that drive revenue, profitability, and market share. This role manages the channel planning process from opportunity identification through customer presentation and execution while leading large cross-functional initiatives and developing team members.

Essential Job Functions *

 

  • Leads: Leads two to three specific categories and channels, partnering cross functionally to meet business objectives.
  • Is the go-to expert to creatively resolve problems.
  • Channel Support: Participates in the development and delivery of customer presentations, line reviews and new program opportunities. Focus on creating promotional opportunities for sales organization.
  • Marketing Liaison/Support: Communicates regularly with the Sales staff to provide information, answer questions, and assist with issues within the retail channel. Project management for customer tasks is routine for this position.
  • Market Plan Development/Management: Develops, implements, and monitors marketing plans and promotions to ensure the achievement of objectives.
  • Market Research: Coordinates ongoing market and competitive research to identify consumer needs as well as understand the changes in the industry to improve the company’s position in the marketplace.
  • Establishes and oversees effective pricing strategies, using market-based pricing analysis.
  • Business Acumen: Recommends solutions that result in positive margin and revenue impact. Has a solid understanding of profit and loss statements and key sales metrics to drive profit growth.
  • Summarizes key financial information for decisions based on analytical insights

Education & Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or the equivalent in education and experience.
  • Six years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Five years related experience in retail distribution channels
  • Knowledge of the hardware industry is strongly recommended
