As part of HVAC Cooling, SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high quality industrial HVAC equipment used to cool large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and power plants. With cooling towers, fans, and refrigeration units, companies rely on brands like Marley, Recold, and SGS to provide comfort and mission critical and industrial cooling solutions.
How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As an Aftermarket Key Account Manager, you will build relationships with Marley's top customers, to implement key corporate initiatives and achieve revenue growth targets in the given account base. The Marley Aftermarket Parts Group is imbedded in all products and channels that SPX and Marley serve and is a critical component of SPX's success across its cooling markets.
The person will facilitate information between SPX and the key accounts, engaging in their product, service, and technical support needs. The incumbent will meet with customers to discuss product solutions and service programs that fit their operation and improve their productivity. Additionally, the account manager will be aware of all competitive solutions offered or in use with the customer. They will meet booking/revenue numbers for the quarters and the year.
The successful incumbent effectively manages a challenging workload and, as needed, delegates tasks to supporting roles. Success in this role demands outstanding organizational, project planning, project management, and communication skills.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
  1. Parts Sales and Customer Relationships
  • Actively pursue and cultivate relationships within key accounts.
  • Align channel sales and service teams to optimize customer product needs.
  • Develop strategies for product introduction, quoting opportunities, and long-term sales growth.

  1. Sales Process Management and Execution
  • Work with the quote and sales order support team to ensure accurate order processing.
  • Present parts replacement proposals to customer accounts.
  • Perform on-site product inspections and recommend service solutions.

  1. Reporting, Analysis, and Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain Salesforce CRM to track customer engagement and revenue targets.
  • Solicit and analyze customer feedback on product performance and pricing.
  • Coordinate with regional sales teams to enhance key account management practices.

What we are looking for (Required/Ideal Experience, Skills, Education)

Required Experience & Skills
  • 3+ years of direct sales experience, demonstrating account management and CRM system practices

Ideal Experience & Skills
  • Knowledge of industrial markets or customers and cooling towers is helpful
  • Aftermarket or distributor sales experience
  • Experience with HVAC, industrial processes, or power plants, as well as engineering documents, preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Proficiency with SAP or other ERP
  • Project scheduling experience
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally

Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, with a focus or aptitude to grasp mechanical processes.
  • Driver's License and proof of insurance

Travel & Working Environment
  • Onsite office environment, Monday - Friday when not traveling or in the field.
  • Ability to travel to jobsites for assigned projects to meet with customers.
  • Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
  • May require working in an outside environment; exposure to excessive noise, heat, or bad weather.
  • The position may require working occasionally outside normal work hours.
  • Keyboarding/typing.
  • Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to read effectively from a computer screen and/or a paper copy.
  • Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiples tasks in a fast-paced environment.
