Job description

Overview
The Changeover Crew staff member is an on-call, per-event employee who will work in the areas of room sets and arena conversions at the American Bank Center.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $12.00-$15.00
Benefits for Part-Time roles: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.
This position will remain open until August 14, 2026.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in all aspects of the conversion process for events.
  • Set up and tear down including risers, staging, basketball floor, chairs, tables, pipe and drape, and other items as needed for events at the facility.
  • Handle folding chairs, stacking chairs, tables of various shapes and sizes, drapery, and skirting.
  • Responding to promoters'/clients' needs as directed by the onsite building manager.
  • Assist, when necessary, with pre/post event cleaning, including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, and carpet cleaning.
  • Maintain outside grounds, including parking areas, entrances, and the event plaza.
  • Perform painting, patching, and other conversion-related upkeep/repairs.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, clients, and patrons encountered in the course of employment.
  • Work effectively under pressure and stringent schedules to produce accurate results.
  • Actively care for all arena equipment and property by storing, cleaning, and maintaining changeover equipment.
  • Respond to and resolve set-up issues promptly as directed by fellow staff and management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Experience in public facilities highly preferred.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including long hours, overnight, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects on a regular basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
