Cfa Salary information

What is the average salary for a CFA charterholder?

The average salary for a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charterholder varies depending on experience, location, and job role. In the United States, CFAs typically earn between $70,000 and $150,000 per year, with senior professionals and those in major financial centers earning significantly more. Entry-level positions may start lower, but the CFA designation often leads to higher earning potential and advancement opportunities in finance-related careers. Compensation can also include bonuses, which may substantially increase total earnings.

How does earning the CFA designation impact salary progression and career advancement opportunities in the finance industry?

Earning the CFA designation can significantly enhance salary potential and open doors to advanced roles in the finance sector, such as portfolio management, equity research, and investment analysis. Many employers value the CFA credential as a mark of expertise, which can lead to higher starting salaries and faster promotions compared to non-charterholders. Additionally, CFAs often have access to a global network and specialized roles that may not be available to those without the designation. However, the exact impact on salary varies depending on geographic region, years of experience, and the specific area of finance you pursue.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and why are they important?

To thrive as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), you need strong analytical abilities, advanced financial modeling skills, and a deep understanding of investment principles, typically backed by completing the CFA program and relevant work experience. Proficiency with financial analysis tools such as Excel, Bloomberg, and other portfolio management systems is highly valued. Exceptional attention to detail, ethical judgment, and effective communication distinguish top performers in this role. These competencies ensure accurate investment analysis, sound decision-making, and trust with clients and stakeholders in the financial industry.

What is the difference between Cfa Salary vs Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)?

AspectCfa SalaryChartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
CredentialsSalary data for professionals with CFA certificationCertification earned by finance professionals
Work EnvironmentSalary varies by role and experienceRequires passing CFA exams and work experience
Industry UsageSalary info for CFA charterholdersCertification used across finance roles

While Cfa Salary refers to the earnings of professionals holding the CFA designation, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is the certification itself. The salary varies based on experience, location, and role, but earning the CFA credential often leads to higher earning potential in finance careers.

Job description

Coordinator, Quality Review
About the Role
The Coordinator, Quality Review ensures the accuracy, consistency, and quality of curriculum, certificates, and exam materials across CFA Institute programs. You'll conduct detailed reviews of educational content across formats - including Canvas courses, PDFs, and eBooks - to catch and report errors before they reach learners. You'll also help build and refine the workflows and checklists the wider team relies on, and track recurring issues to help improve how content gets created in the first place.
This role reports to the Senior Manager, Content Operations, and can be based in approved jurisdictions in the Eastern time zone of the United States or The United Kingdom.
What You'll Do
  • Conduct detailed quality reviews of Canvas courses, PDFs, and eBooks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to CFA Institute standards
  • Identify and document content errors, reporting findings to the relevant teams for resolution
  • Develop, maintain, and update workflows and checklists that guide the quality review process
  • Track and document recurring issues, surfacing insights and suggesting improvements to how content is developed
  • Ensure reviewed content meets accessibility standards and aligns with inclusive design best practices
  • Collaborate with team members to continuously improve quality assurance workflows

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 2 years' experience in a professional or editorial role, with strong organizational and time management skills
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once
  • Familiarity with XML tagging, HTML, and content management systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and diplomatic demeanor
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and comfort with tools like Jira or Adobe Creative Suite

Nice to Have
  • Experience working directly with Canvas

Why Join Us
  • Direct impact on the quality of materials used by candidates around the world
  • A role that blends editorial precision with process improvement - you'll shape how the team catches issues, not just fix them one at a time
  • Collaborative team within Learning Innovation, working across content, accessibility, and operations
