Purpose of Job:

The Senior Human Resources Specialist performs advanced-level professional work that directly supports the management and general business operations of GOAL Academy.ย 

This position exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters related to employee relations, workplace investigations, policy interpretation, and organizational effectiveness. The roleย is responsible forย evaluating complex personnel issues, recommending solutions, and influencing employment-related decisions in alignment with legal requirements and organizationalย objectives.ย 

Supervisory Responsibilitiesย 

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but serves as a coach and mentor to HR team members.ย

Employee Relations & Investigations โ€” 45%ย 

  • Conducts impartial workplace investigations, applying professional judgment to assess credibility, analyzing facts, andย determiningย findings and recommended actions.ย 
  • Leads resolution of complex employee relations matters in partnership with HR leadership.ย 
  • Interpret policies and employment laws toย adviseย supervisors and leadership.ย 
  • Evaluates disciplinary issues and recommends corrective action.ย 
  • Exercises discretion in escalating high-risk mattersย 
  • Identifiesย potential FMLA/ADA issues and determinesย appropriate referral.ย 
  • Representsย GOAL Academy in unemployment hearings, including case evaluation, documentation preparation, and testimony.ย 
  • Promotes compliance with equal employment opportunity standards.
  • Conduct investigations related to Title IX complaints and concerns.ย

  • Designs and leads stay interviews and exit interviews.ย 
  • Administers employee engagement surveys, analyzes results, and develops insights.ย

  • Providesย consultative HR guidance for regional and site leadership.ย

  • Develops and delivers HR-related training programs.ย

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education and Experience:ย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in human resourcesย or related field preferredย 
  • Minimum 3 years of HR experienceย 
  • Minimum 1 year of investigation or employee relations experienceย 
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.ย
