Job description

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Portfolio Manager implements MAI’s investment strategy for high net worth clients and families. This person may also participate in various committees that comprise MAI’s investment platform.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Frequent contact with clients through in person meetings, phone and written communication.
  • Prepares and reviews client reports.
  • Provides advice and strategies related to clients’ investment portfolios.
  • Regular reviews client’s investment portfolios to align with MAI’s asset allocation strategy and the client’s goals & objectives.
  • Trades individual securities, ETF’s, mutual funds, and alternatives to ensure that they are in line with their IPS guidelines.
  • Participates in business development process for prospective clients.
  • May participates in various investment committees, including asset allocation, equity, fixed income, manager research, and/or alternative committee. and MLP committees.
  • Maintains and expands investment, market, and economic knowledge through continuous reading of periodicals, white papers, research reports and other industry publications.
  • Partners with financial planners to provide holistic advice to the client on all of their financial needs, including cash flow planning, estate planning, tax planning, etc.
  • Reviews private opportunities and conducts other ad-hoc research for clients.

EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS

  • 10+ years of experience in investment management field.
  • Broad background in financial markets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Economics preferred.
  • MBA or CFA preferred.
