PROFILE
Roncalli High School is a 9th through 12th-grade Catholic school located in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. The school, part of Roncalli Catholic Schools, is a learning community that serves the whole child - mind, body and spirit - while fostering academic excellence. Faculty and staff promote the mission of Roncalli Catholic Schools and work toward providing the optimum environment in which students may learn and develop their faith.
JOB SUMMARY
Position Description:
This is a full-time school counselor position. The desired candidate is somebody who addresses students in a holistic manner and completes responsibilities as contracted, assists with the Catholic/Christian formation of students and actively participates in the faculty community. The individual hired for this position also will be expected to recognize and promote the philosophy of Roncalli Catholic Schools, and support the Catholic commitment to education. Ideal candidates should demonstrate commitment to faith, academics and service while being strong role models. Candidates also will promote a positive, charitable spirit and nurture the school environment.
Counseling Responsibilities:
Provide individual/small group counseling
Support and consult with parents, staff and administration
Develop, implement and/or coordinate programs (i.e. peer mediation, etc.)
In-service staff on school counseling program and procedures
Facilitate developmental guidance programs
Participate in planning to meet student educational, emotional, social, physical and spiritual needs
Act as liaison between school and community resources
Build master schedule
Coordinate and supervise independent study classes with building principal
Coordinate Youth Apprenticeship (YA) responsibilities and program with the CESA #7 YA coordinator
Professional Responsibilities:
Cooperate with the principal in fulfilling professional responsibilities
Continue professional growth
Maintain current certification
Read and agree to follow policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook
Grade Level/Curricular Activities:
Perform other duties as determined by the administrator within the parameters of the aforementioned responsibilities

Motivate through good example, meaningful prayer and liturgical experiences
Promote a positive, charitable spirit and nurture a Christian environment with the school community
Work openly, creatively, and cooperatively with the principal and staff

Qualifications:
Minimum of a masters degree in counseling
Current Wisconsin DPI Certification 96
Submission to legal background check
