Mendocino Community Health Clinic (MCHC) is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our organization in delivering high-quality, accessible healthcare to our communities. The CEO serves as the Executive Director of MCHC and, in partnership with the Board of Directors, is responsible for the overall success, sustainability, and strategic direction of the organization. Together, the CEO and Board ensure MCHC’s continued relevance, impact, and accountability to the communities we serve.


The CEO also serves as the HRSA Project Director and is responsible for overseeing daily operations, organizational performance, and long-term strategic growth.


Key Responsibilities


Organizational Leadership & Strategy

  • Partner with the Board to define and advance MCHC’s mission, vision, values, and strategic goals
  • Ensure organizational effectiveness, sustainability, and community impact
  • Provide regular updates to the Board on operations, challenges, and opportunities
  • Support the Board in governance, policy development, and strategic planning

Operations & Program Oversight

  • Provide overall leadership and oversight of all MCHC programs and services
  • Ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality operations across the organization
  • Develop and implement systems, policies, and procedures that ensure quality improvement and support organizational excellence

Financial & Administrative Management

  • Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and audit processes
  • Partner with the Board to secure financial sustainability and growth
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and funding requirements
  • Recommend and implement appropriate staffing and resource allocation

People & Culture

  • Foster a positive, inclusive workplace that attracts and retains high-quality staff
  • Lead recruitment, development, and performance management of leadership team
  • Build strong teams and promote a culture aligned with MCHC’s mission and values

Community Engagement & Advocacy

  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for MCHC
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners and policymakers
  • Advocate for policies that support community health and address local needs
  • Promote awareness of MCHC services and community impact

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred)
