Pay: $30.29-$31.73 an hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm

A well-established organization is seeking a compassionate, professional, and service-oriented Funeral Director & Family Counselor to join its team in the Portland area. This position offers the opportunity to provide meaningful support to families while overseeing funeral arrangements, administrative responsibilities, and relationship-building within the community.
Position Summary-
The Funeral Director & Family Counselor serves as a trusted resource for families during important life transitions. This role combines funeral directing, client counseling, administrative coordination, record management, and community outreach responsibilities. The ideal candidate is organized, empathetic, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where flexibility and professionalism are essential

Essential Job Duties-
  • Guide families through funeral and memorial service arrangements with care and professionalism.
  • Coordinate services, documentation, and related administrative processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company procedures.
  • Obtain and manage required paperwork, authorizations, and documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families, vendors, community partners, and industry professionals.
  • Assist with business development activities, lead tracking, and community outreach efforts.
  • Support day-to-day operations and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Requirements-
  • Licensed Funeral Practitioner or ability to obtain licensing within 60 days of employment.
  • Previous funeral home, cemetery, memorial services, or related industry experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Professional demeanor with a commitment to exceptional client service.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish or Vietnamese skills are a plus.
