SEVERNS VALLEY BAPTIST CHURCH

Celebrate Recovery Contract Worship Leader

Worship Arts · In Partnership with Boyce College

Position Overview

Severns Valley Baptist Church is inviting a Boyce College student to lead worship music for our Monday night Celebrate Recovery gathering. Celebrate Recovery is where people bring their hurts, habits, and hangups into the light and meet Jesus in the middle of their healing. As the CR Worship Leader, you set the tone for that gathering each week, leading people into honest, hope filled worship before they open God's Word together.

What You'll Do
  • Lead worship music for the weekly Celebrate Recovery gathering on Monday nights.
  • Choose a set list suited to a recovery ministry context, in coordination with the Worship Pastor.
  • Arrive prepared to lead without a separate weekly rehearsal, coordinating independently with any other musicians serving that night.
  • Communicate promptly with the Worship Pastor about your availability, song selections, and any changes to the plan.
  • Lead with pastoral sensitivity, remembering that many in the room are taking brave steps toward healing.
Who We're Looking For
  • A current Boyce College or Southern Seminary student with musical ability on guitar, keys, vocals, or another lead instrument.
  • A growing follower of Jesus who wants to serve outside the walls of a typical Sunday platform.
  • Someone reliable and self directed, comfortable preparing a set on your own.
  • Someone sensitive and nonjudgmental toward people in recovery.
  • Reliable transportation for the drive from Louisville.
Compensation

You will be paid $150 for each week you lead. This is paid as an independent contractor rather than a church employee, and the rate accounts for your time and the commute from Louisville.

We exist to love God, love people, and make disciples by helping people fulfill their role in God's story.
