The Manager/Senior Manager Strategic Portfolio and Business Development within our Strategic Portfolio and Business Development (SPBD) organization will play a crucial role in supporting the strategic growth initiatives for the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating potential product, portfolio, and company collaboration and acquisition opportunities, providing comprehensive reports and recommendations to the Business Development and Portfolio functions, and for ensuring that the department meets company's immediate and long-term growth objectives.

Job duties:

  • Product Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of potential product opportunities, including forecasting and financial modeling, market research, and due diligence.
  • M&A and Mature Brand Acquisition: Conduct analyses of potential company and mature brand target acquisitions monitoring for overlap and strategic Padagis pipeline and technology augmentation.
  • Business Case Preparation: Prepare thorough business cases at the product and company level.
  • Maintain Business Development Hunt List: Maintain product details for ideal inorganic pipeline augmentation.
  • Segment Analysis: Macro (and product level as needed) analysis for segments in pharma market (by dosage form or indication or mode of action or drug category) that would inform strategic investment decisions in that segment.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, offering insights and recommendations based on the latest data and market developments.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the SPBD, and other cross functional teams to develop strategic plans for portfolio growth and drive insights from the organizations long range planning.
  • Risk Management: Assess and manage risks associated with product opportunities, ensuring alignment with the company's risk tolerance and investment criteria.
  • Market Research: Stay abreast of market trends, industry developments, and partner / CDMO activities to inform product decisions and strategy.
  • Liaise with other functions on topics such as new project due diligence kick-off meetings, R&D project feasibility and updates, legal assessment and updates, launch management, operations planning, and commercialization/competitive scenarios.
  • Update portfolio information tools, reports and databases as new information becomes available.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Intellectual Property Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional pharmaceutical experience; minimum of 2 years of experience in product ideation, business development, market research or pipeline valuation within the US pharmaceutical industry with preference for generics.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret scientific and financial data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Exposure to pharmaceutical datasets and analytics tools (e.g. IQVIA, Cortellis, Global Data, IPD Analytics, PriceRx, FDA websites) is highly preferred.
  • Experience in generic pharmaceuticals industry
