Senior Network Architect

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Hybrid **On-site 3 days and remote 2 days per week**

Contract: 6 Month Contract to Hire

We are seeking an experienced Network Architect to join our client s IT team and lead the design, implementation, optimization, security, and support of enterprise and hybrid cloud network environments. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in datacenter networking, private connectivity, and cloud integration, including routing traffic between on-premises infrastructure and public cloud platforms.

As a networking subject matter expert, you will partner closely with systems, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure network platforms are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with business objectives. This position will play a key role in shaping network standards, tools, and future-state architecture.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • CCNA required; CCNP or Juniper certification preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive network engineering and administration experience
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise Cisco routing and switching environments
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls and network security platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of VLANs, STP, trunking, EtherChannel, and QoS
  • Strong experience with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms
  • Expertise with EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, and enterprise routing design
  • Experience with ACLs, IPSec VPNs, NAT/PAT, certificates, and network security controls
  • Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, authentication services, and Windows-based environments
  • Familiarity with Azure and hybrid cloud networking
  • Experience with network monitoring, logging, and alerting tools
  • Working knowledge of RADIAAA authentication
  • VoIP experience (RingCentral preferred)
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead technical initiatives and collaborate across teams
  • Ability to install and support network/server equipment as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and support LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, firewall, and cloud network architectures
  • Lead configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting of Cisco-based routing, switching, and security platforms
  • Manage and enhance network security controls, segmentation, access management, and monitoring
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex network issues and drive root cause resolution
  • Develop and maintain network standards, documentation, and architecture diagrams
  • Plan and execute network changes following ITIL best practices
  • Collaborate with vendors, carriers, and data center providers on implementations and support
  • Monitor network health, performance, and capacity; identify risks and improvement opportunities
  • Support Azure and hybrid networking environments
  • Oversee enterprise VoIP infrastructure
  • Contribute to disaster recovery, resiliency planning, and infrastructure projects
  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance
  • Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support as needed
