Job description

Beloit Health System is adding to our team in our Cardiac Cath Lab with immediate openings for a Registered Nurse at Beloit Memorial Hospital.
  • Sign-On Bonus: Yes
  • Shift: 1st
  • Schedule: 7a-5:30p and Call Rotation
  • Hours per week: 40 hours per week

The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse is responsible for all aspects of nursing related to cardiac, peripheral, and electrophysiology procedures, EKG and stress lab exams, special procedures including radiology procedures in our fast-paced, high intensity unit. The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse will work closely with physicians, rad techs, other nurses, and other members of a multidisciplinary team. The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse:
  • Ensures delivery of professional services.
  • Meets the physical and emotional needs of the patient.
  • Carries out physician orders.
  • Maintains neat and accurate records and completes documentation according to policy.
  • Responsible for all aspects of preparing and executing cardiac catheterizations, electrophysiology procedures, special procedures, stress and EKG exams, and all other exams performed in the department.
  • Performs unit specific duties according to established unit-based competencies.
  • Ensures patient safety while handling, transporting, and providing medications to patients; protects patients from various hazards, falls, disease exposure, etc.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform functions accurately and efficiently with computer software application appropriate to position.
  • Participates in patient and staff education.
  • Ensure continued professional growth and actively participates in Quality Improvement Program
  • Directly assist physician.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  • ADN, Diploma, BSN or MSN degree acceptable.
  • State of Wisconsin or multistate nursing licensure required. (Must request WI licensure within 30 days).
  • Must be BLS certified within three months of hire.
  • ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Requires the ability to work independently, and to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply proper procedures to Beloit Health System policies.
  • Employee possesses the training, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform the following activities (evaluation, treatment, and patient care) for patients in one or more of the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
  • Successful completion of pre-placement physical examination.
  • Involves physical effort that includes full range of body motion which includes standing, walking for extensive periods of time. Also assists with lifting patients up to 25 pounds weight, pushing transport carts ranging in weight of 50-200 pounds.
  • Involves work with radiant/thermal energy.
  • Required to have manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires to see and hear at a level sufficient to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Requires working in sometimes stressful conditions or irregular hours.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
