Summary:

The Clinical Assistant will be responsible for providing and coordinating orthopaedic patient care. Your responsibilities are to provide support to medical providers along with setting up exam rooms, recording and updating medical histories and enter information into computerized medical records, scheduling patient appointments and performing standard care procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting physicians and/or physicians assistants with patient care within the clinic setting
  • Updating clinical notes in electronic medical systems
  • Completing phone triage
  • Casting and bracing
  • Performing routine office procedures
  • Providing patient education
  • Suture and cast removal
  • Assisting physician with medical procedures, injections and casting with courteous and knowledgeable medical decision making
  • Following through on patient requests for information
  • Stocking exam rooms with supplies
  • Cleaning instruments after procedures and preparing for sterilization
  • Acting as a liaison between patient and physician
  • May require travel between Vero Beach and Sebastian Office


Administrative Support:

Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of the Administrator or the Board, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a clinical setting, preferably in orthopaedics.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care

protocols.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity are required for performing clinical tasks.
