Job Title: Casting EngineerJob DescriptionThe Silicone Casting Engineering Technician supports the manufacturing and development of silicone and polyurethane components through casting processes. This role combines hands-on production responsibilities with design, process improvement, troubleshooting, quality support, and tooling assistance to ensure efficient operations and high-quality output.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, mix, and cast silicone and polyurethane materials according to engineering and production specifications.
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot molds, tooling, and casting equipment.
- Support process development activities, including trials, material evaluations, and new product introductions.
- Monitor casting operations and identify opportunities to improve quality, yield, and production efficiency.
- Inspect finished products and document quality results in accordance with established standards.
- Assist engineers with root cause analysis and corrective actions related to casting defects and process deviations.
- Update and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and production records.
- Collect and analyze basic process data to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Essential Skills- Design, engineering, medical device experience.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Plastics, Polymers, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 2+ years of experience in silicone, polyurethane, plastics, composites, or related manufacturing environments.
- Experience with casting, molding, or production processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Experience with Solidworks and CAD.
- Familiarity with quality inspection tools and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
- Basic knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience in medical device, aerospace, industrial manufacturing, or consumer product sectors.
- Experience supporting engineering projects, process validation, or new product launches.
- Exposure to mold design, tooling, or material testing.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sarasota, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.46 - $38.46/hr.
