Cash Receipts Representative
Accounting Department | Non-Exempt
Help Ensure Every Gift and Payment Is Handled with Accuracy and Care
Lakewood Church is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Cash Receipts Representative to support the accurate collection, reconciliation, and processing of revenue received by Lakewood Church and Joel Osteen Ministries.
Working directly with the Cash Receipts Manager, this position plays an important role in ensuring funds are accurately recorded, deposits are processed timely, financial records remain organized, and established accounting controls and procedures are followed.
This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys working with numbers, values accuracy and consistency, and can manage detailed financial responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Work Schedule
  • Standard 35-hour work week
  • Monday through Thursday in the office
  • Optional work-from-home Fridays

Compensation
  • $20 to $24 per hour, depending on experience

What You'll Do
Working as part of the Accounting team, you'll support the daily processing, reconciliation, and reporting of cash receipts while helping maintain strong financial controls and accurate records.
Cash Receipts & Reconciliation
  • Reconcile cash receipts received through various forms of payment
  • Prepare cash deposits and arrange deposits with designated financial institutions in accordance with established policies
  • Work collaboratively with Accounting team members to ensure cash deposits are accurately recorded and processed
  • Process bank-returned items and perform regular reconciliations to account for transactions
  • Research and assist with resolving discrepancies related to cash receipt activity

Deposits & Payment Processing
  • Prepare weekly deposits for armored service pickup
  • Sort incoming mail and ensure deposit items are processed and sent to the bank promptly
  • Follow established procedures for handling and processing financial transactions
  • Help ensure funds and related documentation are handled accurately and securely

Reporting & Financial Records
  • Compile, generate, and review distribution reports for management as needed
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records in accordance with established accounting standards and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and personal information
  • Follow established internal controls and comply with applicable audit standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • The ability to move frequently throughout the building and regularly lift up to 20 pounds

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Some college coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred
  • Minimum one year of recent experience in accounting, cash handling, or a related field preferred
