Job description

If you are smart, driven, organized, and want a role where your work makes a real difference, this may be the opportunity for you!
Chaffin Luhana is seeking a Case Development Paralegal to help build personal injury cases from the very beginning. You will work directly with clients, gather important facts, identify problems early, help with treatment issues, protect deadlines, and keep cases moving forward.
This is an entry-level paralegal role, but it comes with real responsibility. We are looking for someone who can think for themselves, make informed decisions, solve problems, and follow through.
Prior personal injury experience is a plus, but we are also willing to hire someone with strong aptitude, intelligence, communication skills, and drive.
Mission
The mission of the Case Development Paralegal is to efficiently vet and advance cases through timely and thorough investigation into liability, injuries, treatment, and insurance to determine case viability while setting clear expectations and building a strong case foundation. The role is centered on delivering a world-class client experience by identifying client needs, supporting them through the most difficult stages of their case, and helping solve their problems with the ultimate goal of helping clients in any way possible.
What We’re Looking For & What You’ll Do

  • You want to make a difference. You take pride in helping clients through a difficult time and in doing work that has a real impact on their case.
  • You take ownership. You make informed decisions, take action, follow through, and keep your cases moving forward.
  • You work well with clients. You gather information, provide updates, set clear expectations, and make sure clients feel informed and supported.
  • You investigate and think critically. You review liability, injuries, treatment, insurance, and other key facts, spot issues, ask the right questions, and solve problems.
  • You identify problems early. You recognize treatment issues, missing information, insurance concerns, and other problems before they grow.
  • You prioritize well. You know what needs attention first and can keep multiple cases, tasks, and deadlines moving at the same time.
  • You protect deadlines. You make sure important tasks, notices, and follow-ups are completed on time.
  • You make strong recommendations. You use the facts and evidence to recommend next steps to attorneys and management.
  • You finish what you start. You drive open tasks and issues to completion and know when something needs to be escalated.
  • You are detail-oriented. Your work is accurate, organized, and complete, and you keep Litify current.
  • You have drive. You learn quickly, accept feedback, want responsibility, and want to be challenged.

Qualifications Required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make decisions without constant direction.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines at the same time.
  • Ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Comfort following structured processes and workflows.
  • Comfort with technology and willingness to learn AI-enabled tools.
  • Commitment to Chaffin Luhana LLP’s Core Values: Results Driven, Excellence Without Paralysis, Compassionate and Authentic, In It Together, and Innovative Growth.
Preferred
  • Experience in personal injury, insurance, claims, medical administration, legal intake, customer service, or a similar field.
  • Experience in a busy, deadline-driven work environment.
  • Experience gathering and reviewing detailed information.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Litify, or another case-management system.
  • Paralegal certificate, coursework, or related education.

Prior personal injury experience is preferred, but it is not required.
If you are smart, driven, a strong communicator, and someone who takes ownership and gets things done, we want to hear from you!
