Job description

We are a wellestablished and respected General Contracting Company seeking an experienced Estimator/Project Manager to support our finish carpentry and commercial construction projects in the Escondido, CA area. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detaildriven, and skilled in estimating, scheduling, project coordination, and communication. We're looking for a proactive problemsolver who can manage multiple projects, collaborate effectively with field teams and clients, and deliver accurate proposals and successful project execution. If you bring a "Team First" mentality and are eager to grow with a fastpaced, serviceoriented construction team, this role is an excellent fit.


POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Manager is responsible for managing finish carpentry projects from bid coordination through project completion. This role oversees estimating, proposals, job costing, scheduling, and execution for commercial carpentry projects, including bigbox retail remodels, tenant improvements, and repeat-client work. The Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between field crews, company leadership, and general contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.


KEY RESPOSIBILITIES

Include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare detailed estimates, takeoffs, and pricing for commercial, finish carpentry projects
  • Assemble and submit proposals and bid packages in coordination with leadership
  • Review plans, specifications, and scopes of work to identify labor, material, and scheduling requirements
  • Assist with bid followups and value engineering as needed
  • Plan, schedule, and manage carpentry projects from award through closeout
  • Coordinate labor, materials, and subcontracted work to meet project timelines
  • Monitor job costs, track budgets, and manage change orders
  • Conduct regular followups on project status, schedule, and budget performance
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standards


    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum 3-5 years of experiencein construction project management, estimating, or related roles
    • Experience managing finish carpentry, commercial remodel, tenant improvement, or similar construction projects
    • Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
    • Experience with estimating, job costing, budgeting, and scheduling
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fastpaced environment
    • Proficiency with basic computer applications (email, spreadsheets, project documentation)
    • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites, as needed


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working with small construction or specialty subcontractor teams
    • Familiarity with bigbox retail remodels or repetitive commercial work
    • Background in finish carpentry or handson trade experience


    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to visit active construction sites and work in varying conditions
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb as required for site inspections
    • Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment up to40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
    • Ability to safely navigate job sites while complying with safety requirements and PPE standards
