Job description

Position Summary:

Lighthouse Construction is seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both rough and finish carpentry, a strong understanding of construction methods, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. This role plays a key part in ensuring that our construction projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all aspects of carpentry work including framing, drywall backing, blocking, siding, trim installation, doors, windows, and hardware.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials with accuracy.
  • Install structures and fixtures such as windows, doors, cabinetry, and molding.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow on job sites.
  • Ensure work meets all safety, code, and quality standards.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring proper use and care.
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures and maintain a clean and organized job site.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized apprenticeship program is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in residential or commercial carpentry.
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and various carpentry materials.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with finish carpentry and custom woodworking.
  • Familiarity with ADA compliance standards and sustainable building practices.
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification is a plus
