Job Description:

Provides carpentry skills by constructing, remodeling and maintaining all areas of buildings on campus.
Principle Responsibilities

  • Carpentry/Cabinet Making.
    • Constructs, remodels and maintains all areas of buildings on campus.
    • Ensures that work is completed to meet regulatory requirements and timelines.
    • May read blueprints and estimate materials.
    • May assemble and install custom millwork including repair and remodeling of existing millwork.
    • May need to install small equipment, repair equipment and furnishings.
    • May deal with inventory.
    • Constructs walls/partition.
  • Repairs, installs and maintenance.
    • Repairs/Maintains equipment which may include doors, frames and all hardware including locks and key schedules.
    • Maintains and replaces door hardware, repairs walls ceilings and floors.
    • May need to copy keys, adjusts or install locks.
    • May need to provide record keeping of lock/key schedules and make keys as requested.
    • May need to perform electrical and general maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Vocational or Technical Training in Carpentry OR
  • Minimum of 3 years of carpentry experience in hospital or commercial environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of carpentry experience in hospital environment
  • 2 to 5 years of apprenticeship training
  • 2 to 5 years of framing, drywall and basic cabinet making experience


Physical Demands

  • Heavy Work:
  • Lifting weight up to 100 lbs. occasionally, up to 50 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $36.94 to $46.73 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
