Job description

Madden's is an award-winning resort, located on more than 1,000 acres, that anticipates the wishes and desires of vacationers and offers them fantastic golf, upscale dining, lakeside spa, tennis, activity programs for children, biking, shopping, and art gallery with painting classes and almost every kind of on-the-water recreation possible in Minnesota, including fishing. Madden's has distinguished itself by an emphasis on gracious hospitality, quality, and diversity. Our philosophy is simply to provide the best that Minnesota has to offer. Madden's is currently seeking a full-time Carpenter who will help repair and maintain all resort buildings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Fits and installs window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim.
  • Inspect exterior siding for damage or defect and replace where necessary.
  • Perform minor roof repair.
  • Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of decks and railing, and repair or replace.
  • Remove, construct and replace stairs.
  • Must be comfortable working on ladders and scaffolding.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Follow all company and government safety guidelines and requirements.

Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
  • Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools; follow oral and/or written instructions; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and complete all delegated work within the specified time.
  • Ability to work in a team and coordinate work functions with fellow workers.
  • Keeping a neat and orderly work area for efficiency and safety

Physical Demands:
  • Frequently uses hands to grab, or feel, reaches with hands and arms. Regularly climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, crawls, stands, walks, sits. Frequently lifts or carries up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work outside (if necessary) in inclement weather

Expected Hours of Work:
7:00-3:30pm with rotating weekends.
