Job Title: Carpenter

Department: Operations / Maintenance

Reports To: Shop Supervisor / Operations Manager

Position Summary

The Carpenter is responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, metal framing, and other building materials. This position requires the ability to read blueprints, operate hand and power tools safely, and complete projects efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship and adhering to all safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Construct, install, repair, and maintain wooden structures, fixtures, cabinets, partitions, doors, windows, and flooring.

Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials according to specifications and blueprints.

Install drywall, trim, molding, and finish carpentry components.

Perform repairs and maintenance on existing structures and facilities.

Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely.

Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.

Collaborate with supervisors and other trades to complete projects on schedule.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Estimate material requirements and report inventory needs.

Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Minimum of 2–5 years of carpentry experience preferred.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

Knowledge of carpentry techniques, building materials, and construction methods.

Experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
