Job description

Hours: Monday through Friday (9:00am-3:00pm with a 30 minute lunch unpaid)

Primary Functions: Responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure our facilities remain in excellent condition. This role requires someone with attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Must have the ability to oversee Facility repairs and general maintenance tasks, coordinate vehicle service as well as other assigned special projects.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Experience as a maintenance technician, or in a similar maintenance role.
  • Knowledge of general building maintenance
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC systems (changing belts, filters etc.)
  • Basic understanding of automobile maintenance to assist in simple routine checks and drops offs to and from service appointments, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Essential Functions: Daily functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducts routine inspections of all facilities and vehicles to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Performs minor maintenance and repairs to facilities, including basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work. May include installation, repair, or replacement of flooring, doors, windows, and fixtures.
  • Paints and patches walls, ceilings, and other surfaces as needed.
  • Maintains appliances, and mechanical equipment.
  • Performs landscaping and exterior maintenance tasks.
  • Conducts quarterly vehicle checks and coordinate service appointments
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
  • Keep work areas and equipment clean and organized, ensuring safety standards are met.
  • Mentors interns, volunteers and members that are interested in assisting in regular maintenance duties.
  • Works towards the accomplishment of department/Agency goals
  • Attends all scheduled meetings assigned
  • Meets relevant continuing educational/training requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in maintenance, or a related field.
  • Must have a clean and valid active NJ driver's license.
