Job description

The Event Merchandise Sales Associate plays an important role in delivering an outstanding shopping experience for fans visiting the Carolina Pro Shop at Lenovo Center during Carolina Hurricanes Hockey events. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting guests with merchandise selections, and creating a welcoming, team-focused retail environment.
Starting pay is $13.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome and assist fans with merchandise selections while providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service.
  • Restock merchandise throughout events to maintain a full and organized sales floor.
  • Help prepare the store before doors open and assist with post-event closing procedures.
  • Answer customer questions regarding merchandise, sizing, product availability, and store policies.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using Teamwork point-of-sale system.
  • Perform other retail and customer service duties as assigned.
  • Willing to learn Carolina Hurricanes and NHL regulations for customized jerseys.
  • Notify fans of ongoing events and promotions.
  • Willing to familiarize yourself with the Lenovo Center locations and procedures to better assist fans.
  • Support teammates with store operations and other assigned duties to ensure a positive fan experience.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have excellent communication, customer service skills as well as exceptional attention to detail.
  • Previous register experience and above average math skills are preferred
  • Should be able to stand for long periods of time including walking up and down stairs and the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must have reliable transportation to Lenovo Center.
  • Must be available for 75% of monthly events each month. Position will work long hours for outside events. Must have availability nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
  • Passion for sports and the Carolina Hurricanes is a plus.
  • Must pass criminal background check.
