Summary:

Vighter LLC is recruiting Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality mammographic imaging while providing exceptional patient care at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center (CRDAMC), located at 36065 Santa Fe Avenue, Fort Hood, TX 76544

The Mammography Technologist is responsible for operating mammography equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort, maintaining image quality, and complying with all applicable regulations and facility policies. Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists are responsible for the direct and indirect care of patients to ensure that the quality of the studies adhere to established standards. The standard of care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding all recognized national standards.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Perform screening and diagnostic mammography examinations in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
  • Position patients correctly to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort and safety. Operate digital mammography equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Review images for quality and repeat studies when necessary.
  • Educate patients on procedures and address questions or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Follow radiation safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Perform routine quality control and equipment checks.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely patient care.
  • Maintain current knowledge of mammography standards and best practices.
  • Must adhere to 2026 National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG) standards /guidelines.
  • Must be continuously alert to the patient’s condition and other disorders. Adverse reactions of the patient require immediate attention so that harm does not come to the patient or equipment.
  • An unshakeable adherence to quality and continuous process improvement.
  • An apolitical, patient-centered focus that drives to enhanced care and patient satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of regulations (HIPAA/Privacy Act) regarding the confidentiality of patient medical records and information as well as Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have exceptional customer service skills.
  • Employees shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the job requirements, including ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment with limited supervision
  • Excellent organizational, scheduling and prioritization skills.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Graduate from an approved School of Radiologic Technology.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience in specialty as a Mammography Tech.
  • Certification: ARRT Mammography certification (M) is required.
  • Must have and maintain certification in Basic Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a willingness to adapt and innovate as needed.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Duty Hours / On-call Requirements:

  • The expected duty hours for this position are 8 hours per day and 5 days per week. However, this key position supports 24/7/365 operations which may require work to be conducted in the day, at night, on weekends, and during holidays.

Travel:

  • As required to satisfy the contractual obligations. Commuting is non-compensatory. All official travel is government funded.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand or sit for more than 8 hours per day.

  • Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders.
  • Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to perform duties in an indoor or outdoor environment.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation.
  • Must undergo Urine Drug Screening (UDS).
  • Must be a Citizen of the United States or legally authorized to work in the United States of America.
