Job description

Bunzl North America is looking for a Sustainability Analyst to support the sustainability team in St. Louis, MO.
This position is onsite in St. Louis, MO. Local candidates only. No relocation.

Sustainability is a key Bunzl strategic priority, and we have directed our efforts into four areas where we believe we can make the greatest positive contribution: providing alternative product and packaging solutions; taking action on climate change; ensuring responsible supply chains; and investing in our people.
Bunzl is committed to increasing the amount of recyclable, compostable or reusable packaging supplied to our customers to help them meet their targets. This role will support our customer engagement efforts by building product data models and analyzing data to create actionable insights and product transition plans.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain analytical tools that assess the sustainability impact of Bunzl's product portfolio.
  • Create powerful dashboards using PowerBI to show the value of embedding sustainability practices and products into customers' businesses.
  • Support customer product data reporting requests.
  • Analyze and interpret product data to identify business needs and opportunities to implement sustainable products alternatives.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to uncover insights that inform product improvements, customer engagement strategies, and business growth opportunities.
  • Apply compounded filters to segment data to provide accurate information for customer compliance reporting
  • Build dashboards and advanced visualizations using PowerBI to communicate performance, sustainability metrics, and actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Develop and document processes for data collection and internal quality assurance audits
  • Review and continuously improve data processes and identify opportunities to automated reporting.
  • Track and report on progress towards sustainability goals and key performance indicators.
  • Assist internal and external teams with sustainable product inquiries in a timely manner.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Statistics, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related disciplines
  • 3+ years of experience in a corporate business setting
  • Advanced Excel and data analytics skills
  • Expertise in building out PowerBI dashboards
  • Strong, proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
  • A self-starter with the ability to prioritize stakeholder inquiries and projects to meet tight deadlines
  • Curiosity and exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple assignments

Preferred Requirements
  • Sustainability experience in manufacturing, distribution, or consumer goods industry
  • Experience in category management or working with category managers
  • Knowledge of standard industry practices in sustainable packaging and/or sustainable products is a plus
  • Experience in packaging, product development, and/or lifecycle assessments
